New Date

So we have to figure out what day we're starting on, lol.

Our last date was October 6, Year 5. I think we agreed just to skip about 3-4 months. So my thoughts are... we either skip to February 6, Year 6 (4 months) or just go to January 1, Year 6 (almost 3 months).

Now for this new site we also have to decide if we're going to just continue the old dates (i.e. we are starting on February 6, Year 6, the next day is February 7 Year 6, etc) or if we're going to have new dates (i.e. starting over at Year 1). I don't particularly care what we do, as long as we decide exactly what day our new RP day would correspond with the old one (so we can calculate ages and stuff).

Sorry if this doesn't make sense... let me know. I'm sleep deprived.

I think we should start a new "day", leaving where we left off before the old site crashed. There's a lot of new litters that will be aging a couple of months if we stick to that original plan you just mentioned above.

I don't have much of a problem with it. It would interesting since none of the dominants will have any new litters at the time besides the previous ones before since it can have to do with the drought forcing them to stop reproducing for the time being.

Could we do the next day, THEN skip to where the drought is more severe?

Hmm.. So we finish playing the old day, and then do a skip?

If I can find all the last pages of the old day in my mess of files, that might work.

Personally, I definitely want to skip forward a bit. I'd like for the mobs to have had enough time to suffer the drought and change (lost members, grown weaker, dispersed, etc.) in that time. I have some pups who I would have liked to have played as they were really young, but I'm not that concerned about it. Honestly, I usually have fun playing pup characters for about a day and then get sick of it. haha

So, my vote would be for either February 6, Year 6 or January 1, Year 6. I also think that we should keep it as "year 6", since I think that it's pretty neat to keep track of how many years have passed within the role play since it first began. c:

If everyone wants to rp the next day and then do the skip, then I'd be okay with that, though. I'm just a bit worried that activity won't be as high during that time as it would be after the skip.

Yeah, I'm worried about activity levels too if we do the next day. And in my head, I've already resigned to dispersing/giving up a bunch of characters so it would be weird to actually play them again.... and then have them disperse.

That being said, I may want to give up some pups and reincarnate them later. I really was looking forward to playing a few. The only thing I'm particular about is Moze's litter, but I could say she aborted and mated again over the skip.

I would be happy with January 6th.

For the sake of continuity... would you want to just rename pups that you adopted but are dispersing? Like say you adopted a Shiner pup you really wanted to play but now Shiners are dispersing, could you just rename the pup something simple like Larry and have Larry disperse and voila you get to keep the name you wanted for a pup you can play! Lol. I'm just thinking it's easier to do this since technically all the pups are accounted for on the last RP day... but I might just be overcomplicating things?

I do like the idea of January 1st being a nice, clean start to the new year, but at the same time I also like the buffer of time that February provides so that people can have their characters emotionally adjust to whatever they might have gone through or lost in that time period.

Either way, I wouldn't be affected by this decision so I really shouldn't be talking |D

4 months is a bit too long for me... It would be more realistic for the drought though... I'll think about it.

February or January would work for me. Still gives enough time to disperse some of my characters and fuel inspiration for those I'm keeping. :3

Also, you guys. LM handled DW on her own for years. She knows how to write life histories (I think) and she knows Forumotion a little, so if we ever need a hand... xD

I believe the drought is still in progress. Even after a drought, though, it can take a while to recover, I think.

I also prefer January. Maybe we could push it to January 13th if we need an extra week?
